 Rosalia Vila Tobella[2] (born 25 September 1992),[3] known mononymously as Rosalia (Spanish: [rosa'li.a], Catalan: [ruz@'li.@]),[4][5][6] is a Spanish singer. She was born and was raised in Barcelona. Her diverse music style has earned her the label of "atypical pop star". [9] She was captivated by Spanish folk music when she was 13 years old. She studied musicology at the Catalonia College of Music and also performed at weddings. The album combines flamenco with hip-hop and pop The album resulted in "Malamente" (single) as well as "Pienso en tu Mira (single). Both singles sold out and received widespread critical acclaim. El Mal Querer, who was awarded the Latin Grammy Award as Album of the Year, and was included in the Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time was the catalyst for Rosalia's rise to the world of music. Rosalia is a musician who explored urban music in her albums of 2019 "Con Altura" and "Yo x Ti Tu x Mi", was a global hit. Her third album, Motomami (2022) she gave reggaeton an innovative approach, deviating slightly from the original flamenco sound. With singles "La Fama," and "Saoko", the album received a worldwide acclaim and was deemed to be the most well-reviewed album of the year by Metacritic. Rosalia has amassed ten number-one singles in her career, all in her country of birth. It's the highest number for an artist hailing from the region. Rosalia has also been awarded two Grammy Awards, eleven Latin Grammy Awards (including two Album of the Year awards) and four MTV Video Music Awards, an MTV Europe Music Award, three UK Music Video Awards and two Premio Ruido awards, among other things. Billboard gave her the Rising Star Award in 2019 for "changing the music scene of today through her flamenco-influenced pop"[18[18]. She is also the first Spanish-singing artist to be nominated for the Grammys for Best New Artist.



 Rosalia was born on 25 September 1992 in Sant Cugat del Valles and raised in Sant Esteve Sesrovires,[20][21][22] Baix Llobregat, Catalonia. She was born in an unartistic family and is the youngest child of Pilar Tobella who runs a small family business that specializes in metalworking. Jose Manuel Vila, her father, was born in Cudillero. They divorced in the year 2019. The older sister, Pilar Vila ("born 1989") is her stylist and creative director. Rosalia was interested in the performing arts from an early age, and particularly after discovering the discography of Camaron de la Isla. She started her musical education at Taller de Musics. [24] She did six years of study in the academy. She started at the Raval school and later transferred to the Superior School of Music of Catalonia. Additionally, she performed independently as a singer at weddings, bars with music and other occasions. She received "a little over 80 euro or as a payment for dinner". Rosalia also met many underground Spanish artists during this period including La Zowi (Yung Beef), Kaydy Cain and Hinds.
